If You Haven't Seen This Guy's Videos, You Should!
His name is Shug. By trade, he's a clown, juggler, and comic performer; but, he's also an avid backpacker. His animated stage presence carries over into his videos about backpacking gear and with his whimsical on-camera persona, he has created a kind of a virtual Vaudeville for gear addicts on his Youtube channel. Here's just one example (I love the "snake skin" idea):
If you want to be thoroughly entertained while getting some good gear porn at the same time, check out all of his videos. Good job Shug! You make my videos seem about as exciting as a piece of pocket lint!
If you like his Shug's videos and his gear, you should go and check out hammockforums dot net. Shug is a member there and most of the videos were created to post on that forum.
True, so true ... I learn a lot from that forum. Most of the ideas in my vids are from posters there and I take 'em in the field and give 'em a go. And tape it for some fun. Great bunch on there...... Shug
I've been looking for a better tarp/flysheet for my hammock and I think I just found it! Thanks for sharing. Shug definitely is very entertaining. BTW I don't think that the "snake skins" idea is one Shug came up with, I got a pair of them with my Hennessy Hammock when I ordered it - they really do make setting up and taking down a snap!
Shug is great!! I stumbled across his youtube videos when I was looking for some on the Brasslite I-D stove. He's also an awesome mandolin player! A lot of the music at the beginnings of his videos inclues him on the mandolin.

Great tips and extremely entertaining.
Fun to see other nuts out there enjoying the "Piney Woods"
Thanks Sam & Shug,
I'm not a hammocker, but I will check out the site for sure!
You cannot resist the allure of the dark side, Jason. Nothing beats hammock camping.
Never! I'll Never turn over to the dark side!
Jerry-
Thank you so much for telling me about Shug! I can't believe this guy was out there and I had no idea.

For sure NOT my idea....... I learned to use them on a tarp from the HammockForum site. Great stuff there.

Oops! I mean to write "includes"!
He inspired me to pick up my mandolin again and get going on learning to play it! LOL
